1998 Junior Olympic Qualifier Camp
Monday, July 13 - Thursday, July 16

Camp Max: 30

Ages: 8-18 years old

Skill Level: All intermediate level paddlers with a reliable river roll through top level junior racers interested in qualifying for the 1998 Junior Olympic event.

Check In: At the NOC Programs Office 2-5pm Sunday, July 12.

Registration: Registration must be received, with full payment, by the Nantahala Outdoor Center Programs Office by Monday, July 6. After that time there will be a $25 late fee. NRC now can take a Visa or MasterCard for an additional 5% fee.

Week Cost: Coaching: $25.00 per day ($100.00 total)

Lodging: No Lodging Package.

Membership Required: NRC (for insurance purposes) $20 individual, $30 family

Classes: All decked boats

Training Areas: Nantahala bridge gates (class II), Nantahala River (class II-III), Nantahala Village pond (flatwater)

Coaching: The head coach for this camp is Wayner Dickert who will be accompanied by other USCKT National Team and Hi Performance Team athletes and coaches.

Other Comments:

  • Groups will contain approximately 5 athletes.
  • The Nantahala Racing Club will have racing kayaks, C1's and C2's for camp participants that would like to use race boats but don't have their own.
  • All participants are encouraged to race in both the Dixie Division Camp Challenge on Friday, and the NRC Junior Olympic Qualifier race on Saturday.
